Tennessee has been designated the best fiscally managed state in America.
Tennessee thrives because of low taxes, limited regulation, and strong fiscal discipline. Jack is committed to keeping our state one of the lowest-taxed in the nation by cutting government waste and stopping unnecessary regulations that burden families and businesses.
He and his wife were proud “horn honkers” during the fight against a state income tax, and he has never wavered in his opposition. That’s why he co-sponsored the resolution to amend Tennessee’s constitution, making a state income tax unconstitutional in our state.
When Republicans took control of the General Assembly in 2012, he helped put these conservative, pro-business policies into action. The results speak for themselves—Tennessee’s economy has flourished, businesses have expanded, and job growth has surged. People from across the country are moving here, drawn by our low-tax, business-friendly environment and strong quality of life.
He will keep fighting to protect existing jobs, create new opportunities, and make Tennessee one of the most financially responsible and economically competitive states in the nation.
Jack will always stand against any effort to weaken or infringe on our Second Amendment rights. Law-abiding citizens have a constitutional right to keep and bear arms, and he will continue to work to protect that freedom in Tennessee.
Jack proudly sponsored and passed Tennessee’s Permitless Carry Law, allowing law-abiding Tennesseans to carry a firearm without a permit, reinforcing their right to self-defense. He also sponsored the Second Amendment Financial Privacy Act, which prohibits financial institutions from using transaction data to track or restrict firearm and ammunition purchases. No Tennessean should be subject to mass surveillance or financial discrimination for exercising their Second Amendment rights.
In addition to expanding gun rights for law-abiding citizens, he has fought to crack down on criminals who steal or illegally possess firearms. Jack co-sponsored legislation that increases penalties for firearm theft, enhances sentencing for repeat offenders, and ensures violent felons face harsher consequences for illegal gun possession. These laws protect responsible gun owners while keeping firearms out of the hands of criminals.
As a proud NRA member, NRA-endorsed legislator, and holder of an A+ rating from the NRA, Jack works alongside fellow conservatives to ensure Tennessee remains one of the strongest pro-Second Amendment states in the country. He will always fight to preserve our constitutional rights and push back against any attempt to erode our freedoms.
A nation that cannot protect its borders cannot ensure its sovereignty. The United States is a beacon of freedom and opportunity, but we are also a nation of laws that must be enforced to keep our communities safe and protect American jobs. Jack fully supports President Trump’s efforts to secure our border, stop illegal immigration, and hold sanctuary cities accountable. President Trump’s leadership is essential in protecting our country, and Jack is proud to stand with him in this fight.
Here in Tennessee, Jack has worked to strengthen our state’s role in immigration enforcement. He sponsored and passed SB 6002, which ensures accountability for public officials who enact sanctuary city policies in violation of state and federal law. This legislation also creates a new Central Immigration Enforcement Division within the Department of Safety to work directly with federal authorities in identifying, detaining, and deporting criminal illegal immigrants. Tennessee is taking a strong stand to remove dangerous individuals who threaten our communities.
Jack has also fought to crack down on fraudulent documentation used for employment and sponsored legislation requiring all Tennessee employers to verify the legal status of prospective employees through the Department of Homeland Security. Employers who hire illegal immigrants take opportunities away from Tennesseans and undermine law-abiding businesses. Additionally, Jack sponsored legislation to allow businesses to require English in the workplace without fear of baseless lawsuits, ensuring that safety and efficiency remain a priority.
At the federal level, he will continue working with President Trump and national leaders to build a permanent physical barrier along our southern border and implement stronger immigration enforcement policies. We must put the safety and security of Americans first. Jack will always fight to protect Tennessee from the consequences of illegal immigration and keep our state a safe, law-abiding place to live and work.
Government overreach threatens our freedoms, and Jack has fought tirelessly to protect Tennesseans from unconstitutional mandates. No one should be forced to choose between their personal freedoms and their livelihood. Jack has worked to ensure that Tennesseans have the right to make their own medical decisions without government coercion and that businesses, schools, and individuals are free from oppressive regulations.
He led efforts to block the Biden Administration’s unconstitutional COVID-19 vaccine mandate in Tennessee, ensuring that no employer, government agency, or public institution can force Tennesseans to get vaccinated against their will. He sponsored legislation protecting workers from being fired due to vaccine mandates and ensuring businesses cannot discriminate against employees based on their personal medical choices. Jack also helped pass laws that prohibit vaccine passports, preventing government agencies and private businesses from requiring proof of vaccination to access services or employment. Additionally, Jack passed legislation prohibiting doctors and hospitals from denying life-saving organ transplants to patients based on their vaccination status. Medical care should never be denied based on personal health decisions.
Along with stopping forced vaccinations, Jack has worked to protect Tennesseans from mask mandates. He proudly sponsored legislation that prohibited schools and local governments from forcing mask mandates on employees and students. Tennesseans should never be required to comply with mandates that violate their rights and personal beliefs.
Jack will continue standing against government overreach and unconstitutional mandates that threaten our freedoms. Tennesseans should never be subject to federal or state mandates that infringe on their rights, and he will always fight to keep our state a beacon of freedom and individual liberty.
Jack is proud that Tennessee leads the nation in election integrity. Under conservative Republican leadership, Tennessee ranks #1 in the nation for election security. Jack has sponsored and passed multiple laws to strengthen election integrity, secure our voting process, and ensure that every legal vote counts while keeping illegal votes out. Trust in our elections is essential to our democracy, and he will always fight to protect the integrity of our electoral process.
Jack sponsored and passed legislation requiring the Secretary of State to conduct random post-election audits to verify the accuracy of election results. He also passed a law requiring hand-counted public audits of paper ballots to further enhance transparency. In addition, he passed a law requiring all voting machines in Tennessee to produce a voter-verified paper audit trail, adding an extra layer of security to the voting process.
To prevent non-citizens from voting in Tennessee elections, he passed a law ensuring that legal, non-citizen residents receive a distinct driver’s license that clearly indicates their ineligibility to vote. This law guarantees that only U.S. citizens can register and cast a ballot in our elections. Additionally, Jack fought to pass and protect Tennessee’s strong Voter ID law, which requires voters to present valid identification before casting a ballot. Voter ID laws stop fraud, prevent impersonation, and ensure confidence in our elections.
Jack will always stand up to protect Tennessee’s elections from fraud, manipulation, and outside interference. While other states weaken their election laws, Tennessee will continue to lead the nation in security, fairness, and trust in the democratic process.
Republican voters deserve the opportunity to select their party’s nominees in a free and fair election—without interference from Democrats or party insiders. That’s why Jack sponsored and passed Senate Bill 799, which ensures that candidates for partisan office are nominated through a transparent process that gives every Republican a voice—not through closed-door conventions or insider-controlled caucuses that disenfranchise Republican voters, like our brave men and women in uniform and first responders. This law strengthens voter confidence and protects the integrity of our primary elections.
Jack is also co-sponsoring legislation to bring party registration to Tennessee. While current law makes it a crime to vote in a party’s primary without either being a bona fide member of that party, or without declaring affiliation with that party in good faith on election day, there is currently no formal process for voters to make that commitment in advance. The Republican Party has always been a big tent—welcoming Americans from all walks of life who believe in freedom, opportunity, and limited government. As President Reagan once said, “I didn’t leave the Democratic Party. The Democratic Party left me.” That spirit still defines our movement today. But if you want to help choose our nominees, you should make that decision before election day and declare your party affiliation. Jack’s bill gives voters the opportunity to do just that—so that Republican primaries are decided by Republicans.
Jack fights every day to protect life, defend religious freedom, and ensure families—not the government—make decisions for their children. Radical federal policies have threatened to erode the foundations of our communities, but he remains committed to upholding the conservative principles that Tennesseans hold dear.
Jack has sponsored laws that protect religious freedom, ensuring Tennesseans can worship without government interference. He has backed legislation that allows faith-based adoption agencies to operate according to their beliefs without fear of government mandates.
He has worked to protect children from harmful ideologies and inappropriate content. In 2023, Jack sponsored Senate Bill 1, which bans medical procedures that irreversibly alter a child’s body for the purposes of gender transition, and Senate Bill 3, which prevents children from being exposed to sexually explicit performances. These laws protect Tennessee’s children and reinforce our commitment to common sense.
Jack will always stand up for Tennessee values, protect families, and fight to keep our state a national leader in conservative governance.
Jack will always fight for those who cannot fight for themselves. Every life is worth protecting, and he is 100% pro-life. When the US Supreme Court overturned Roe v. Wade, Tennessee’s Human Life Protection Act went into effect, making our state one of the strongest pro-life states in the nation. Jack proudly supported this law to ensure unborn children receive the protection they deserve and to reaffirm Tennessee’s commitment to the sanctity of life.
Jack has consistently led efforts to defend the unborn and protect Tennessee’s most vulnerable. He co-sponsored the resolution that amended Tennessee’s constitution, removing the abortion debate from activist judges in Tennessee and putting it back in the hands of the people. His unwavering commitment to defending life has earned him the endorsement of Tennessee Right to Life and the continued trust of pro-life Tennesseans.
Protecting life extends beyond ending abortion. Jack is working to strengthen Tennessee’s foster care and adoption system, ensuring every child has the opportunity to grow up in a safe and loving home. Families who choose life deserve support, and he remains committed to expanding resources for children in need of care.
Jack will never waver in this fight. He will always stand up for Tennessee’s most vulnerable, defending the unborn, supporting children in need, and ensuring every life is valued and protected.
Parents must have control over their children’s education. No child should be trapped in a failing school because of their ZIP code. That’s why Jack led the fight to pass universal school choice in Tennessee, giving every parent the power to choose the best education for their child—whether it’s public, private, charter, or homeschool. Tennessee now leads the nation in education freedom, putting families in control instead of government bureaucrats.
Jack took action to remove radical, politically motivated agendas from our classrooms. He sponsored legislation that banned Critical Race Theory in Tennessee schools, ensuring students learn facts, not ideology. He also fought to eliminate Common Core-aligned materials, keeping curriculum decisions grounded in Tennessee values, not federal overreach. Parents deserve full transparency about what their children learn, and Jack will continue working to protect parental rights in education.
Jack is working to ensure education funding follows the student, not the system. He sponsored legislation to improve the public charter school process by creating a statewide Public Charter School Commission, strengthening accountability and oversight. At the same time, he remains committed to keeping private and home schools completely independent. The government should never interfere or dictate how they educate students.
He will always stand with Tennessee families and fight to keep parents in charge of their children’s education. Universal school choice is just the beginning, and Jack will keep working to expand opportunities, protect students, and ensure every child gets the best possible education.
Jack believes that every Tennessean should have the opportunity to succeed based on their merit, character, and qualifications—not because of arbitrary quotas or political agendas. That’s why he sponsored and passed legislation to eliminate taxpayer-funded Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) programs in state and local government, as well as in our public colleges and universities.
These new laws prohibit hiring decisions based on race, sex, age, or other identity-based factors, ensuring that employment and admissions are rooted in fairness and equal opportunity. These laws also ended the use of DEI consultants, banned mandatory ideological training, and dismantled DEI offices that promoted division over unity.
Tennesseans expect their government to treat everyone equally under the law—not to elevate one group over another. Our reforms restore that principle and ensure that public institutions focus on excellence, not activism. Jack will continue working to protect individual liberty, reward achievement, and keep Tennessee a national leader in common-sense, conservative governance.
Women and girls have fought hard for equal opportunities in athletics, and Title IX was a historic milestone in that fight. Those hard-won protections are now under attack by radical activists who want to allow men to compete in women’s sports. It’s not fair, it’s not safe, and it undermines everything female athletes have worked to achieve.
That’s why Jack has supported legislation to ensure that athletic competition remains fair by protecting women’s sports from being redefined by gender identity. Tennessee law now makes it clear: participation in public middle, high school and collegiate women’s sports is based on biological sex at birth—not self-identification. This policy defends the integrity of women’s athletics and ensures that opportunities, scholarships, and recognition continue to go to the women who have earned them.
Jack will always stand up for female athletes and fight to preserve fairness, safety, and common sense in Tennessee law.
